Release Manager IRC

Description

Our client is looking for a skilled Release Manager to lead and coordinate release activities across Digital, Retail, and Supply Chain domains, supporting more than 10 Scrum teams. In this role, you will play a key part in establishing and standardizing release processes, especially as Digital delivery is executed through outsourced teams. You will work closely with distributed engineering groups located in Ukraine, India, and across Europe, ensuring smooth, predictable, and high-quality releases.

This position requires strong communication, cross-functional alignment, and the ability to bring structure and consistency to a fast-moving environment.

The Release Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing software releases across environments (development, test, staging, production).

This role manages release planning, risk assessment, governance, compliance, and performance metrics to ensure reliable, business-aligned software deployments delivered on time, with the required quality, and with minimal risk and impact to customers and business operations.

We are looking for the person with:

• an experience of 3+ years in release management, hybrid environments (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• large-scale multi-unit releases
• ITIL Change/Release expertise.
• strong stakeholder skills, automation tools, ITSM, eCommerce/Retail/ERP knowledge
• leadership in outsourced setups and Dev Ops principles.

• Release Planning Coordination
• Own and manage the end-to-end release lifecycle across multiple applications and platforms.
• Develop and maintain release calendars and roadmaps aligned to business priorities.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including development, QA, Dev Ops, infrastructure, and business stakeholders.
• Ensure all release components are properly integrated, tested, and approved.
• Act as the primary liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Facilitate release readiness reviews and governance forums.
• Provide executive-level reporting on release status, risks, and mitigation plans.
• Ensure clear communication of release scope, impacts, and timelines.
• Identify, assess, and manage release risks and dependencies.
• Ensure change management processes are followed in alignment with IT governance.
• Oversee rollback planning and contingency procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement in release processes.
• Ensure adherence to SDLC, Dev Ops, and ITIL best practices.
• Maintain release documentation, audit trails, and compliance records.
• Monitor release performance metrics (defect leakage, rollback frequency, deployment success rate).
• Identify process improvement opportunities and implement best practices.
• Champion automation and Dev Ops maturity initiatives.
