Job Summary
The Infrastructure Project Manager - M&A Integration will lead IT integration efforts for newly acquired companies, ensuring alignment between integration goals and broader business strategies.
This role requires strong experience managing infrastructure projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, overseeing schedules, risks, and dependencies, and adapting both Agile and Waterfall methodologies to drive successful project outcomes.
The Project Manager will also engage with acquired organizations to articulate integration vision, build strong working relationships, and drive clarity in complex environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand M&A integration objectives and align IT strategies with business goals.
- Engage with acquired company teams to communicate integration vision, tactical deliverables, and maintain strong working relationships.
- Lead IT integration efforts to ensure alignment of infrastructure, information security, processes, and technologies.
- Manage sub-project dependencies and overall program structure.
- Apply Agile and Waterfall methodologies to deliver business value and adjust practices as necessary.
- Identify the appropriate level of task granularity to support visibility and control.
- Develop, manage, and communicate complex project schedules and interdependencies in a clear and structured format.
- Create and maintain project schedules utilizing multiple delivery methodologies.
- Monitor future work to adjust plans, reallocate resources, and anticipate scheduling challenges.
- Identify, document, and communicate project risks and impediments at initiation and throughout the project lifecycle, including obtaining stakeholder agreement.
- Collect effort estimates and assess capacity to determine accurate timelines.
- Plan and facilitate standard project meetings including backlog preparation, iteration planning, retrospectives, reviews, and daily stand-ups.
- Recommend process adjustments and obtain stakeholder consensus when deviations are required.
- Provide qualitative and quantitative project updates aligned to critical success criteria and project goals.
- Address quality issues directly with project teams and communicate long-term resolutions to stakeholders.
- 7-10 years of IT experience, including 7+ years of project management and at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Experience leading IT integrations for acquired companies, ensuring alignment of infrastructure, information security, processes, and technology.
- Ability to collaborate across all levels of newly acquired organizations and drive clarity in ambiguous environments.
- Background in infrastructure project delivery such as networks, storage, databases, end-user hardware, video conferencing, M365 migrations, and/or information security monitoring tools.
- Experience onboarding acquired companies into enterprise shared services such as Salesforce or Workday.
- 7+ years of Waterfall project management experience, including full budget responsibility for large programs/projects (>$5M).
- 3+ years of Agile experience recommended.
- SAFe Agile experience recommended.
- Related certification preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Advanced understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies, values, and processes.
- Experience managing large-scale, technically complex projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Office applications, Clarity, MS Project, Team Foundation Server, Jira, or similar systems.
- Ability to collaborate effectively, encourage diverse perspectives, influence decisions, manage conflict, and work well within teams.
- Highly adaptable to changing environments.
- Strong situational awareness with the ability to balance listening and assertiveness.
- 10+ years of project management experience.
- Strong communication skills.
- 3+ years of experience in Mergers & Acquisitions integrations.
- Healthcare industry experience is a plus.
- PMP certification required.
