Role

Summary

The Senior Product Manager for User Experience & Onboarding owns the first experience of the product or platform. This role is accountable for how users land, understand value, orient themselves, and successfully get started, across all role-based personas.

This includes ownership of the homepage, global navigation, onboarding journeys, and cross-product entry points. The role drives a cohesive, intuitive, and persona-aware experience that scales across a growing product suite.

This PM leads the roadmap for this book of work and is responsible for day-to-day collaboration and prioritization across designers, content leads, and engineering partners to deliver high-quality user experiences.

Key Responsibilities Product Ownership & Strategy
  • Own the end-to-end onboarding and first-run experience across the platform or product suite.
  • Define and drive the product strategy and roadmap for:
    Homepage and landing experiences, Global navigation and way finding, Role-based entry points and persona experiences, First-time user flows, activation, and guidance.
  • Ensure the experience clearly communicates value, intent, and next steps for users with different roles, goals, and levels of expertise.
  • Establish clear success metrics for onboarding, activation, adoption, and usability.
User Experience Leadership
  • Act as the product lead for UX, partnering closely with designers and content strategists to shape flows, structure, and interaction models.
  • Translate user needs, research insights, and business goals into clear product requirements and experience outcomes.
  • Champion simplicity, clarity, and consistency across all entry points into the product.
  • Ensure experiences scale across multiple products while remaining coherent and intuitive.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Serve as the primary point of coordination for design, content, and engineering for this area of ownership.
  • Drive prioritization and sequencing of work across disciplines to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Collaborate with platform, infrastructure, and feature PMs to align onboarding and navigation with downstream product experiences.
  • Work effectively within a matrixed organization, influencing without direct authority.
Delivery & Execution
  • Write clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria focused on user experience outcomes.
  • Partner with engineering to balance experience quality, technical feasibility, and delivery timelines.
  • Ensure design and content are integrated early and throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Manage trade-offs while protecting the integrity of the user experience.
Measurement & Continuous Improvement
  • Define and monitor KPIs related to onboarding success, time-to-value, engagement, and drop-off.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative feedback to iterate and improve experiences.
  • Identify friction points and opportunities to improve clarity, discoverability, and usability.
Required Qualifications
  • 5–8+ years of product management experience, with significant ownership of user experience-centric products or platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience owning onboarding flows, homepage experiences, or navigation frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of UX principles, information architecture, and user-centered design.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams including design, content, and engineering.
  • Experience working in complex, multi-product or platform environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with role-based or persona-driven products.
  • Background in enterprise, SaaS, or platform products.
