Amazon Data Services, Inc. is part of AWS Infrastructure Services, which owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. The team helps keep the cloud running by supporting AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that keep customers continuously connected to the innovations they rely on. You will join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply‑chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers and collaborate across AWS to deliver the highest safety and security standards while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost.
We are expanding our network deployment team and are looking for a proven technology manager with people‑management experience, robust technical understanding, and the drive and vision to take AWS data centers to the next level. The successful candidate will create sustainable processes and standards to reduce delivery cycle times and improve quality without impacting network availability. The network deployment manager will oversee team development, project delivery, and the installation of network equipment and low‑voltage structured cabling across the Amazon data center platform.
Key Job Responsibilities- Manage a team of technicians responsible for installation and deployment of new network systems and projects.
- Prioritize and assign tasks to data center technicians and operators; coach and create documentation.
- Manage inbound capacity from receiving through deployment stages.
- Lead the installation of network and cabling infrastructure in a data center environment.
- Guide, train and educate staff on best practices related to all service owner issues.
- Manage tasks and deliverables across small to large‑size projects.
- Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and required SLAs.
- Coordinate team resources to support project and delivery needs, including emergency projects, change management, maintenance windows, and potential off‑hours/on‑call needs.
- Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
- Drive compliance with Amazon performance‑management requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of equivalent experience
- 2+ years of Information Technology (IT) experience
- 2+ years of management/team lead function experience
- Experience with network hardware: copper and optical fiber cabling, switches, routers
- Experience with Lean/Six Sigma
- Knowledge of cabling best practices
Salary range for this position: USD 78,400.00 – annually (USA, IN, New Carlisle). The compensation package includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
