The Technical Program Manager will lead the end-to-end delivery of software programs in the connectivity domain — including telematics, OTA, data platform, and connected vehicle features. This role involves coordinating cross-functional engineering teams, managing suppliers and customers, and ensuring seamless program execution from development through production maturity.
The position requires a mix of technical understanding, strong execution discipline, and customer-facing communication skills to drive program success in terms of quality, timing, and financial outcomes.
What you’ll do :
Program Delivery & Execution- Manage program delivery from planning through production release, ensuring scope, timing, and quality targets are achieved.
- Develop and track program schedules, milestones, and dependencies across software, validation, and integration teams.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between embedded, backend, cloud, and mobile development streams.
- Monitor program health, identify bottlenecks, and drive timely resolution of issues.
- Willingness to travel and work on-site with customers as needed to support deployments and key initiatives.
- Work closely with engineering teams to align technical deliverables with program goals.
- Track software feature readiness, testing progress, and integration maturity.
- Coordinate system-level validation and ensure readiness for customer testing and production rollout.
- Support design and release planning activities for software updates and version management.
- Coordinate deliverables with external suppliers and technology partners.
- Track supplier commitments, integration packages, and software drops.
- Facilitate technical and program reviews with suppliers to ensure delivery alignment and quality compliance.
- Act as the single point of contact for customer program coordination.
- Conduct regular status updates, milestone reviews, and risk assessments with customer teams.
- Ensure transparent communication and proactive management of issues or changes.
- Drive customer satisfaction through consistent delivery performance and responsiveness.
- Track program budgets, effort utilization, and change requests.
- Support cost estimation, resource planning, and profitability tracking.
- Contribute to business reviews and program financial reporting.
- Identify risks early in the program lifecycle and define mitigation actions.
- Maintain risk and issue logs with regular updates and tracking.
- Assess the impact of scope or timeline changes and drive decision-making with stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 7–10 years of experience in software program or project management, preferably in automotive connectivity, telematics, IoT, or SDV domains.
- Fluent at writing and speaking in Japanese (JLPT
- 2). JLPT - 1 (desirable) - Proven track record in managing software delivery involving multiple teams or suppliers.
- Good understanding of connected vehicle architecture, OTA frameworks, and cloud-device communication.
- Experience working with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers is an advantage.
- PMP, Agile, or equivalent certification preferred.
- Strong planning and execution skills with a delivery-focused mindset.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Technical understanding of software integration, validation, and release management.
- Financial and analytical skills for tracking budgets and program health.
