About the Role:

HR Generalist

ChemDAQ is seeking a hands-on HR Generalist to support the full employee lifecycle as we scale. This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys wearing multiple hats, including recruiting, onboarding, benefits, compliance, and employee support, while partnering closely with leadership and managers.

You will play a key role in strengthening ChemDAQ’s internal HR foundation, supporting our growing workforce, and reinforcing a positive, high-performance culture.

Work Environment

    on-site role based in our Pittsburgh office (5 days per week)

Key Responsibilities Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding
  • Support full-cycle recruiting, from job postings through offer and onboarding.
  • Draft and post compelling job descriptions across multiple platforms.
  • Build local recruiting pipelines through partnerships with universities, workforce organizations, and professional groups.
  • Represent ChemDAQ at job fairs, networking events, and community meetups.
  • Support employer branding efforts to attract mission-aligned talent.
Onboarding & HR Operations
  • Coordinate and deliver a smooth, welcoming onboarding experience for new hires.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Support managers with role-specific onboarding and training coordination.
  • Assist with the implementation and ongoing maintenance of a centralized HR portal.
Employee Relations & Engagement
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for employee questions related to policies, benefits, and workplace matters.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and company-wide programs.
  • Assist leadership with performance management processes and employee development efforts.
  • Track HR metrics related to hiring, onboarding, and engagement.
Benefits, Payroll & Compliance
  • Administer employee benefits programs and support annual enrollment.
  • Serve as a primary contact for benefits-related questions and vendor coordination.
  • Support payroll administration to ensure accurate and timely processing.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Assist with developing, updating, and communicating HR policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of progressive HR experience in a generalist role or a similar capacity.
  • Experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, and compliance.
  • Familiarity with HR systems, portals, or HRIS platforms.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a growing, fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
