The HR Generalist supports core People & Culture operations across the employee lifecycle, with primary responsibility for payroll processing, Paylocity administration, and full-cycle recruiting. This role partners closely with employees, hiring managers, and leadership to ensure accurate payroll, effective hiring practices, and a positive employee experience.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a growing organization where systems and processes continue to evolve.
Key Responsibilities- Administer Paylocity for employee records, job changes, compensation updates, and reporting
- Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time, including audits, corrections, and coordination with Finance
- Maintain payroll, timekeeping, benefits, and core HR data in Paylocity
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour requirements
- Support year-end payroll activities including W-2 processing and reconciliations
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for assigned roles, including hourly and salaried positions
- Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements and hiring needs
- Post positions, screen candidates, conduct initial interviews, and coordinate interview schedules
- Support offer preparation, background checks, and pre-employment requirements
- Maintain accurate candidate and hiring records
- Ensure a consistent, professional candidate experience
- Support onboarding and offboarding activities, including new hire setup and I-9 compliance
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions related to payroll, recruiting, benefits, and HR policies
- Maintain accurate employee records and documentation
- Assist with benefits administration, including enrollments, life events, and employee questions
- Support leave administration in accordance with company policies and applicable laws
- Provide general office and administrative support related to employee experience, including ordering lunches for meetings or events, coordinating office supplies, and supporting onsite employee activities
- Support compliance with employment laws and internal policies
- Assist with HR reporting, audits, and documentation
- Contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes and systems
Required
- 3–5 years of HR Generalist experience
- Hands-on experience with Paylocity, including payroll processing
- Experience managing full-cycle recruiting
- Working knowledge of payroll, HR compliance, and employment practices
- Strong attention to detail and confidentiality
Preferred
- Multi-state payroll experience
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP)
- Experience supporting both hourly and salaried populations
- Strong payroll accuracy and problem-solving skills
- Effective interviewing and recruiting capabilities
- Organized, adaptable, and systems-savvy
- Clear, professional communication style
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
