Contract Physical Therapist
Job Summary:This position requires assessing, evaluating, planning, and implementing medically
prescribed physical therapy treatment for children birth through age three to improve the child’s functional ability to perform tasks at home and in other environments and correct or compensate for medical problems. Treatment is directed toward the prevention or minimization of a disability. Medically prescribed physical therapy treatment may also be provided for older patients suffering from injury or disease, to restore function, relieve pain, to prevent disability, or minimize the effects of a disability.
Work Environment:Work environment varies with the location of the service recipient. Possible exposure to both heat and cold. Frequent travel required in Vanderburgh, Warrick, and Spencer Counties.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Physical Therapy techniques and practices, rehabilitation methods, and patient care
- Experience in providing home care and outpatient therapy services
- Strong knowledge of medicine as it pertains to physical therapy and treatment plans
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to work with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
- Active Physical Therapy license in the state of Indiana
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus
