Behavior Support Specialist; Independent Contractor

Overview

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Pocono Center has an exciting opportunity to become a Behavior Support Specialist. This is an Independent Contractor position.

Location:

1547 Mill Creek Road, Newfoundland, PA 18445. Services are provided in the community and at day programs for individuals with developmental disabilities.

• Designs and directs the implementation of individualized behavioral intervention plans and CASSP-based services.
• Provide clinical services to adults and families as appropriate; document therapeutic process and progress in clinical records.
• Develop discharge planning criteria and identify family needs and appropriate treatment modalities.
• Collaborate with other professionals and agencies to ensure continuity of care and unified services.
• Participate in ISPT meetings and other team-based activities; gather data on antecedents, behaviors, and consequences to inform intervention plans.
• Travel to site visits and meetings; provide coverage in emergency situations; maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Ensure compliance with privacy, billing documentation, and reporting requirements; participate in orientation and ongoing training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Carbon, Lackawanna, Monroe, Pike, and Wayne counties in NEPA.

• Mental Health Master’s Degree with certification in ABA or other behavioral management OR
• Other degree with 12 credits in behavior management AND 1 year of clinically supervised treatment experience with children AND 1 year of experience with behavioral interventions.

Additional requirements:

Devereux maintains a zero-tolerance policy for abuse and a culture of reporting abuse; cooperation with authorities is expected.

PAY RATE: $38/hr (Non-ABA) or $40/hr (ABA Qualified)

Sign-On Payment: $250.00 at training/on-boarding completion, $250.00 after the first case, and $250.00 at 90 days after the first case, contingent on meeting contract requirements.

Special Sign-On Opportunity (through 12/31/2025): If onboarding, training, and service start within 1 month of offer, sign-on bonus increases to a total of $2,000. Distributions: $500 at training/on-boarding completion, $500 after first case, and $1,000 at 6 months after first case.
