Kindred Hospital Havertown is a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) facility specializing in the treatment of medically complex, high-acuity patients who require extended hospitalization. The facility provides advanced respiratory and pulmonary care to step-down–level patients, including those requiring ventilator and tracheostomy support.
Position SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join the Kindred Havertown team on a full-time day shift basis. This role supports a high-acuity LTAC patient population and is ideal for respiratory therapists with strong acute care or LTAC experience who are confident managing ventilators, trachs, and complex pulmonary conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive respiratory care to LTAC and step-down patients
- Manage mechanical ventilation, tracheostomy care, oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and chest physiotherapy
- Perform patient assessments and respond promptly to changes in respiratory status
- Monitor, document, and evaluate patient progress in accordance with facility and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize respiratory treatment plans
- Ensure respiratory equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and compliant with safety standards
- Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments and care plans as appropriate
- Active RRT credential from NBRC (CRT not accepted)
- Active Pennsylvania Respiratory Care Practitioner License
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care or LTAC experience preferred
- Strong experience with ventilators and tracheostomy management
- Current BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity LTAC environment
- Consistent full-time day schedule
