Position: Family Hire - Direct Support Professional

We have an immediate need for a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Venetia, PA 15367 and McDonald, PA 15057.

Schedule:

Thursday and Friday 10am-4pm in Venetia, and Monday and Wednesday 3:30-8:30 in McDonald. To schedule a virtual interview contact  or Lea.

Summary

The Direct Support Professional works under the direct supervision of the Client Care Manager and under the general guidance of the individual as they provide general habilitation and companionship care as indicated in their Individual Support Plan (ISP). Direct Care Support Professionals have an important role in allowing our clients to maintain their independence with an Everyday Lives focused care. Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) report directly to Client Care Managers (CCMs) and are expected to communicate with their CCM regularly, as needed, and be available during their scheduled shift, as necessary.

Announced and unannounced home visits will occur two times annually during a scheduled shift in the client’s residence. DSPs are evaluated by their Client Care Manager on their performance at 90 days and annually thereafter. DSPs are expected to maintain the integrity of JEVS Care at Home, and are expected to comply with all JEVS Care at Home policies, as found in the Caregiver Manual.

Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) is a requirement of the role, and training on how to properly document services and timekeeping will be provided to the DSP. DSP is responsible for communicating any EVV compliance issues with their Client Care Manager (CCM).

Responsibilities
  • Communicate with the Client Care Manager regularly and be available during scheduled shifts.
  • Comply with all JEVS Care at Home policies as found in the Caregiver Manual.
  • Maintain EVV documentation and report any EVV compliance issues to the CCM.
  • Participate in announced and unannounced home visits as required.
Required Education And Experience
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have a clean driving record, reliable vehicle with updated insurance, registration, and inspection.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must meet minimum qualifications for each of the following background checks:
    Criminal, Child Abuse, OIG, SAMS and Medicheck.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle that is insured, with updated registration and inspection.
  • Arrive to assignments with reliability and punctuality.
  • Must satisfactorily complete JEVS Home Care written exam at 80% passing score on post orientation exam and orientation program.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Client Care Manager
  • Comple­tion of Caregiver Orientation
  • Must be able to function in a home setting with minimal direct supervision.
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions and document services provided.
  • Must be genuinely concerned about helping people and have high moral standards of honesty and integrity.
Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a JEVS Care at Home DSP in order to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and have the ability to assist with client ambulation and transfers to/from bed to/from bath and toilet.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands; reach with hands and arms.
