Position: Mobile Therapist (Independent Contractor)
Location: Newfoundland

Position

Devereux has an exciting opportunity to become a Mobile Therapist with our Pocono Center (1547 Mill Creek Road, Newfoundland, PA 18445). This is an Independent Contractor position providing services in the community across Carbon, Lackawanna, Monroe, Pike, and Wayne counties in NEPA.

Responsibilities
  • Provides expertise in behavioral management protocols.
  • Collaborates with other treatment team members to design and direct the implementation of a behavior modification intervention plan individualized to each individual or adolescent and to the family needs.
  • Identifies behavioral goals and intervention techniques, and recommends least restrictive behavioral change methods.
  • Develops treatment plan, services and outcome‑based short‑term goals for identified child/adolescent.
  • Provides assessments of the strength and therapeutic needs of assigned children and their families.
  • Attends and participates in Inter‑Agency Service Planning Team (ISPT) meetings.
  • Gathers written information on antecedents, behaviors, and consequences to determine the need for behavioral intervention, assess current behavior plan effectiveness, and identify any problems.
  • Collaborates with other involved professions and agencies to provide unified services and continuity of care to child and family; develops discharge planning criteria.
  • Works with families to assess needs and appropriate treatment modalities; provides clinical services to child/adolescent and family.
  • Provides written documentation and clinical records of therapeutic process and progress.
  • Submits applicable billing documentation to facilitate payment of services.
  • Participates in company orientation, in‑service training, and Office of Mental Health training.
  • Ensures confidentiality of program participants, records, and information is maintained at all times.
  • Maintains effective Multi‑Disciplinary Team interactions; acts as a mandated reporter under the Pennsylvania Child Protective Service Law.
  • Travels to site visits and meetings.
  • Provides coverage in emergency situations.
Compensation and Benefits

Pay rate: $36 per hour.

Sign‑On Payment
: $200 at the time of full completion of training, contract requirements, and onboarding; $200 after the first case worked; $200 at 90 days after the first case worked, provided the contractor has met the requirements set forth.

Additional Sign‑On Bonus for applicants prior to 12/31/2025
: $2,000 total made in the following increments – $500 at the time of full completion of training, contract requirements, and onboarding; $500 after the first case worked; $1,000 at 6 months after the first case worked.

Note:

This role is not eligible for benefits.

Education and Experience
  • Individuals who provide MT services shall meet one of the following:
  • Licensed Pennsylvania social worker or behavior specialist & a graduate degree that required a clinical or mental health direct service practicum
  • 1 year or more of full‑time experience in providing mental health direct services to children, youth or young adults & a graduate degree with at least nine credits specific to psychology, social work or counseling
  • Graduate degree with at least nine credits specific to clinical practice in psychology, social work, education, counseling & completion of a clinical or mental health direct service practicum
