About the Clinic for Special Children:
Since 1989, the Clinic for Special Children has served as a comprehensive medical clinic for children and adults with rare, genetic disorders. The majority of patients are uninsured, live in agrarian settings, and are of Old Order Amish or Mennonite (Plain) ancestry. The Clinic for Special Children cultivates special interest and expertise in genetic disorders of the Plain people and the provision of care to underserved populations.
Summary
The Medical Assistant assists in providing day-to-day clinical and administrative services to medically complex children and adults. Daily responsibilities include rooming patients, phlebotomy, cleaning and preparing exam rooms, answering phone calls, and assisting with inbasket messages.
Minimum Requirements to apply- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Certification (active or pending) as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from an accredited medical assistant program.
