Medical Billing Specialist (Long Term Care) - Harleysville, PA

Job Description: The Billing Specialist performs a variety of administrative and clerical duties related to the organization’s accounts receivable functions. This position is responsible for processing and maintaining census data, preparing accurate monthly billing for residents and third‑party payers (including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurers), recording payments, and providing excellent customer service to residents, families, and internal departments.

Location: Harleysville, PA

Job Type: Full‑Time

Shifts: Monday‑Friday (8 am‑5 pm)

Setting: Long Term Care

• Maintain and update accounts receivable census for billing accuracy
• Prepare and submit monthly invoices for residents and third‑party payers (Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, Commercial Insurance)
• Process payments, resolve denials, and manage collections
• Validate insurance coverage and communicate benefits information
• Provide excellent customer service to residents, families, and staff
• Assist families with Medicaid application processes
• Manage and distribute resident personal account funds
• Prepare audit documentation and monthly telephone bills
• Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations

• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in long‑term care or physician billing
• Proficient in Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and commercial insurance billing
• Knowledge of UB‑04 and CMS‑1500 claim forms, billing software, and payer systems
