Job Overview

The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the organization for patients seeking routine and life-defining diagnostic services. This role requires strong phlebotomy expertise
, excellent customer service skills
, and the ability to perform accurately in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment
. The PSR II plays a critical role in patient satisfaction, specimen integrity, and compliance with safety and confidentiality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform venipuncture and capillary collections
    , including pediatric and geriatric patients
  • Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures
  • Verify patient demographics, specimen labeling, and patient signatures post-collection
  • Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection as required
  • Maintain accurate records and required documentation
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and professional patient environment
  • Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public
  • Travel between assigned PSC and in-office locations as needed
  • Adapt quickly to changing schedules, staffing needs, and workload priorities
Required

Skills & Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Three (3) years of phlebotomy experience
    , including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to make decisions using established procedures
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Keyboarding and data entry proficiency
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (as applicable)
Preferred Skills & Certifications
  • Medical Assistant or Paramedic training
  • Phlebotomy certification (required in CA, NV, and WA; preferred elsewhere)
  • Minimum 2 years of Patient Service Center (PSC) experience
  • Prior retail or service-based customer service experience
Additional Requirements
  • Flexible availability (weekends, holidays, overtime, on-call)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting
