• The Medical Director plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive medical care within a correctional facility, including examining referred patients, daily infirmary visits, and ensuring thorough, problem-oriented documentation in EMR or on approved forms.
• Demonstrate clinical expertise by responding to emergencies, supervising and instructing healthcare personnel, and consulting with medical specialists and professionals to deliver high-quality care while adhering to established policies and standards.
• Collaborate with the Health Services Administrator to improve patient outcomes through continuous quality improvement initiatives, including Chronic Care Clinics, pharmacy service monitoring, and liaison with community healthcare providers.
• Review and approve treatment protocols, clinical policies, and disaster plans, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
• Provide clinical oversight, participate in the Continuous Quality Improvement Committee, and make recommendations to enhance patient care and safety.

Education

• Medical school graduate.

Experience

• Experience in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine or Public Health preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

• Must have and maintain current licensure within the State of employment.
• Maintains a current DEA number.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification.
• Must maintain privileges. Maintains CME requirements for continued medical practice in the State.

As a Medical Director, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring adherence to company and institutional security regulations, while providing essential documentation of medical services to the Regional or Corporate Medical Director, facilitating ongoing monitoring of service delivery and contract compliance. You will promptly notify the relevant Medical Director and Health Services Administrator of schedule changes to ensure seamless coverage.
