THE POSITION
The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is on the lookout for a personable, ambitious, and reliable professional to join the team as a Park Resource Ranger at Ohiopyle State Park. This is an extraordinary opportunity in which you will play a vital role in enhancing park operations and outdoor recreation, all while ensuring a safe experience for our visitors.

As a Park Resource Ranger at Ohiopyle State Park, you will employ exceptional customer service skills to greet park visitors and answer questions regarding park facilities, environmental features, recreational and program schedules, as well as explain park regulations and the importance of protecting park resources. You will be responsible for monitoring park operations to ensure the safety of visitors and proper use of park facilities.
This will be accomplished through the use of state park motor vehicles and watercrafts, in addition to utilizing a bicycle or maneuvering the grounds on foot. Strong critical thinking skills are exercised to respond to emergency situations or requests for assistance from employees or visitors. Showcase your organizational abilities through the coordination and facilitation of special events, assisting in research projects, and tending to the maintenance of public rescue equipment and public safety first aid kits.

Work Schedule and Additional Information- This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately April 2026 until November 2026 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment in April 2027.
- Work will be scheduled 37.5 hours/5 days per week. Scheduled days/shifts will vary based on operational needs and will include a 30-minute lunch. This position is required to work weekends, holidays, and all shifts deemed necessary to meet seasonal needs.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non‑negotiable.

Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.
- This position is required to obtain valid certification in standard first aid and adult, child, and infant CPR approved by the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or equivalent within 60 days of employment.

- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
