Controller, Finance & Banking, CFO

Our client, a stable and growth-oriented independent community bank headquartered in western PA, is seeking a strategic and driven Controller to join its leadership team. This role offers a clear and intentional path to Chief Financial Officer within 18–24 months. Ideal for a banking or financial services professional who combines strong technical expertise with proactive leadership and a desire to help guide an institution through continued transformation.

This position is 100% onsite.

What’s Offered:

• Base salary targeting $115,000–$132,000
• Annual bonus

What You’ll Do:

• Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
• Ensure GAAP and regulatory compliance within a banking environment
• Lead and develop a small accounting team (3 team members)
• Partner with executive leadership and prepare board-level financial materials
• Support strategic initiatives and operational improvements
• Serve as liaison for audits and regulatory reporting

What We’re Looking For:

• 7+ years of experience in banking or financial services
• Strong GAAP and regulatory knowledge
• Leadership capability with a proactive, improvement-focused mindset
• Executive presence and communication skills appropriate for board interaction
• Interest in advancing into a CFO role
• Fiserv Premier experience a plus
