Financial Controller

Role Mission Statement

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to oversee the financial operations of our wholesale distribution company. The Controller will be responsible for financial accuracy, compliance, and reporting, while playing a key role in analysis as well as oversight of our team in India. This position is critical in providing strategic financial guidance to senior management while maintaining efficient accounting processes.

• Oversee the team responsible for all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll for month end closings and various tax filings.
• Lead our global team of accounting professionals in the US and India.
• Review and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts for accuracy.
• Manage cash flow and supervise financial performance.
• Optimize financial software and ERP systems synergies, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and maintain financial controls to safeguard company assets.
• Ensure internal controls are strong and comply with internal and external audit requirements.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive financial efficiencies across departments.
• Provide strategic financial insights to the executive leadership.
• Develop and mentor accounting staff, fostering a strong team spirit and cohesive team.
• Prepare and submit appropriate reporting required by outside agencies with all necessary supporting documentation.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting and financial management, preferably in a wholesale distribution environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in financial software (e.g., Quick Books, SAP, or similar).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.

$100-$120k, annual; commensurate with experience

Monday - Friday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

* This position may periodically require more than 40 hours per week, specifically during month-end close, and more frequently during the first 2-3 months after hire.
