Senior Compliance Analyst

The Internal Audit Department reports to the Audit Committee of Akamai's Board of Directors. The Department's charter is to systematically evaluate and recommend improvements for the effectiveness of risk management, controls, operational processes and governance.

The Compliance Senior oversees routine and risk-based testing, covering anti-corruption, internal policies, third-party oversight, regulations, and ethics programs. Responsibilities include identifying gaps, recommending corrective actions, and fostering a culture of compliance. Ideal candidates are detail-focused, analytical, and experienced in compliance risk assessment. Reporting to the Internal Audit Senior Manager, travel is minimal, ranging from 0-5% if required.

• Conducting compliance testing by evaluating controls, performing reviews, analyzing transactions, developing methodologies, and documenting results to ensure policy adherence.
• Conducting risk-based compliance testing in ethics and regulations, including transactional reviews of payments, expenses, and high-risk third-party activities.
• Developing and implementing testing methods, sampling techniques, and data analysis; perform compliance reviews; and document findings, evidence, and conclusions effectively.
• Identifying control deficiencies, evaluating process inefficiencies, and detecting policy violations. Partner with stakeholders to address causes and develop corrective solutions.
• Tracking and monitoring remediation progress, validating corrective action closures, and supporting preparation of materials for regulators, auditors, or internal committees.
• Maintaining compliance risk assessments by offering insights, supporting third-party due diligence, enhancing compliance procedures, and participating in investigations.

• Hold qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Business, Compliance, Legal Studies, or a closely associated field of study.
• Demonstrate 3+ relevant experience in compliance testing, internal or external auditing, or risk management, with knowledge of anti-corruption regulations and frameworks.
• Demonstrate analytical, investigative, and documentation expertise. Perform sample-based testing, handle financial or operational data, and collaborate effectively while working independently.
• Obtain relevant professional certifications (e.g., CCEP, CPA, CIA, CFE) to enhance qualifications and meet role-specific requirements.
• Demonstrate knowledge of compliance tools or platforms, such as due diligence systems or GRC platforms.
• Demonstrate expertise in utilizing data analytics methods applicable to compliance monitoring effectively.
