An Accountant in a commodities company is responsible for managing financial transactions related to the buying, selling, and trading of commodities such as oil, gas, agricultural products, metals, and other natural resources. The role involves tracking inventory, managing trade-related transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations. The accountant ensures the accuracy of financial reports, assists in cost management, and provides critical financial insights into the commodity market's volatility and pricing trends.

- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA) are advantageous but not mandatory.
- 2+ years of experience in accounting, preferably within the commodities or trading industry.
- Familiarity with financial modeling and reporting in a commodities environment.
- Experience in commodity accounting, including tracking physical goods, pricing strategies, and market trends.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and cost accounting practices.
- Knowledge of commodity markets and the impact of price volatility on financial reporting.
- Familiarity with commodity trading contracts, hedging, and derivative accounting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Quick Books, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with internal teams, external vendors, and clients.
