Job Description

Join the Future of SMT Engineering at Honeywell!

At Honeywell, we're building a smarter, safer, and more sustainable world. As part of our team, you'll work with passionate innovators who are transforming industries, from aviation to manufacturing, leveraging technology, data analytics, and advanced materials.

As a Global/Regional SMT Process Technology Lead here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for developing and deploying world‑class Surface Mount Technology (SMT) processes across Honeywell’s regional or global factories. This role enables flawless New Product Introduction (NPI), drives global standardization, ensures robust manufacturability, and supports Honeywell’s operating system (HMX) objectives for quality, delivery, and cost. You will report directly to our AME Director Process Technologies and you’ll work out of our Lugoj, Timis location on a Hybrid (3 days in the office +2 days at home) work schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and optimize SMT processes across multiple regional/global sites (printing, placement, reflow, AOI, SPI, conformal coating).
  • Define global SMT standards, process windows, design rules, quality criteria, and best practices.
  • Lead deployment of advanced technologies (e.g., jet printing, 3D AOI, vapor phase reflow, fine pitch/BGA/BGA/QFN/01005 components).
  • Provide technical leadership for NPI industrialization across global factories.
  • Develop long-term SMT equipment roadmap.
  • Support automation initiatives: robotics, material handling systems, traceability/Industry 4.0 solutions, line connectivity (MES integration).
  • Provide remote and on-site support to resolve high-impact SMT issues (yield, quality escapes, equipment performance).
  • Lead global Kaizen and Lean Six Sigma initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electronics, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related field).
  • 7–10+ years’ experience in SMT manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience with Lean and Operational Excellence, Tier reviews, and Global frameworks.
  • Technical leadership & global collaboration.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

We offer:

  • Competitive Salary regularly increased based on your performance.
  • Enjoy 25 vacation days per year, plus extra days off for life's special events.
  • Flexible benefits basket with monthly budget allocated (top up medical insurance, life insurance, pension, vacation/ cultural/ fuel vouchers).
  • Medical Insurance Plan paid by the company.
