Position Title - Design Engineer III/Field Process Engineer
Location:
Zelienople, PA, 16063 (Fully On-site with field work)
Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Flexible)
Duration: 6 Months (Possible Extensions)

Overview:
- We are seeking a Field Process Engineer to support water and wastewater treatment research, pilot testing, and field evaluations. This is a firsthand engineering role involving laboratory testing, pilot-scale system operation, and on-site process optimization. The ideal candidate is technically curious, initiative-taking, and comfortable working across lab, field, and mechanical environments.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot pilot-scale and bench-scale treatment systems.
- Design, assemble, and execute laboratory and field-testing setups.
- Conduct water and wastewater testing using standard analytical methods.
- Support system start-ups, commissioning, and performance evaluations.
- Manage assigned testing projects and timelines.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and operating manuals.
- Train internal teams or clients in pilot system operation
- Communicate test results and recommendations to engineering and business stakeholders.
- Work with mechanical, electrical, and control system components (pumps, valves, sensors, mixers)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Environmental or Chemical preferred; Mechanical or Electrical considered)
- Strong technical writing, documentation, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools.
- I am willing to work in lab, field, and industrial environments.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Experience with water or wastewater treatment processes
- Laboratory experience with water analysis and standard testing methods
- Knowledge of biological wastewater treatment (e.g., activated sludge)
- 0-2 years of relevant engineering or field experience
- Combination of office, laboratory, and field-based work
- Standing, walking, bending, and equipment handling required
- Safety-sensitive position
