Location: Irvine
There is an opening for a Mechanical Engineer at Ellwood National Forge in Irvine, PA, however from time to time maybe assigned to work at the Corry/Warren plants.
The Engineer is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
* Managing of Capital equipment projects (new and re-builds), configuration, justification, location, installation and start-up
* Trouble shooting of equipment and in-house processes as required
* Developing and assisting with implementation of new and improved manufacturing methods
* Interface with and support production to achieve "Best in Class" practices
* Devise and implement process improvements and cost reduction
* Assist maintenance to improve equipment reliability and productivity
* Setting clear expectations for team members and evaluate needs of team
* Solve organizational and production problems.
* Research, develop, collect and report information on the ability and capacity of company products and competing equipment.
* Performs other duties as deemed necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
* 4 year degree in Manufacturing Technology or Engineering or related field
* Experience in metal cutting operations
* Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
* Computer skills (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Syteline)
* Ability to work independently (self-directed) on projects
* Ability to lead and direct team efforts
* Strong math skills and problem solving ability
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Experience with installation and commission of newly purchased equipment and relocation of refurbished/existing equipment
* Detail oriented with the ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects
Preferred Qualifications
* Prior experience with medium and large machine tool builder and /or refurbishing operations
* Maintenance background
* BSME / BSMET
* EIT Certification
* CAM experience ( Mastercam)
