Primary Purpose Of PositionSupport Constellation interface activities with Regional Transmission Organizations (RTOs) as Constellation Generation increases nuclear power output capabilities. RTOs include PJM, MISO, NYISO. Tasks include grid interconnection requests, studies, interim deliverability requests, and necessary studies and material modifications.
Primary Duties And Accountabilities- Provide in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage and implement new or revised Grid Interconnection Agreements (GIAs)
- Provide in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage and implement interim deliverability agreements
- Provide technical expertise and consultation as a subject matter expert of RTO study results including grid reinforcement conclusions
- Possess excellent knowledge in power grid interconnection, power flow, grid congestion, and modifications to influence grid reinforcement conclusions
- Knowledge of applicable NERC, FERC and RTO requirements and regulations
- Directly inform leadership of short‑term and long‑term grid implications for increasing power output capabilities
- Provide industry expertise to inform leaders about risk, schedule, and cost implications of grid reinforcement projects
- Provide instructions to Constellation nuclear operations regarding grid interconnection agreement processes, limitations, and procedures
- Accountable for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work to ensure grid interconnection activities support generation strategic goals
- Perform independent research, reviews, studies and analyses in support of grid interconnections
- Provide technical expertise and consultation as a subject matter expert of generation and excitation modeling per IEEE generation standards
- Experience and ability to utilize grid interconnection software including Power System Simulator for Engineering (PSSE) and others as required
- Perform other job assignments and duties as directed by management or pursuant to company policy coverage, call‑outs, and support of outage activities in positions outside the department
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 10 years of engineering experience
- Demonstrated technical leadership experience, teamwork and leadership attributes
- Maintain minimum access or unescorted access requirements, favorable medical examination and/or testing as applicable
- Professional Engineer Registration
- Advanced technical degree or coursework
