Akkodis is seeking an Aerospace Technical Writer for a Contract role with a client in Harleysville, PA
. The ideal candidate will have experience developing, editing, and maintaining aerospace technical documentation, with the ability to translate complex engineering content into clear, user‑friendly materials.
$35/hour to $45/hour; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Job Responsibilities- Collaborate with aerospace engineers and technicians to gather information about processes, components, and technology.
- Translate complex engineering and testing concepts into clear, concise documentation for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Design, write, edit, and maintain technical manuals, process documentation, test procedures, and supporting materials.
- Maintain a comprehensive repository of technical terminology and controlled documentation.
- Review, analyze, and edit documents to ensure consistency of style, format, and content.
- Manage updates, revisions, and document control processes, including change control board submissions.
- Verify technical accuracy and completeness of documents.
- Create diagrams, charts, graphs, and visual aids to simplify complex technical concepts.
- Technical Associate’s degree.
- 2–3 years of experience in aerospace technical writing or equivalent technical documentation role.
- Experience with test procedure writing and results summarization in aerospace environments.
- Understanding of electrical/digital testing environments and terminology (preferred).
- Strong skills in documentation structure, content organization, and clarity.
- Experience with visual documentation tools (diagrams, charts, etc.).
- Ability to modify and review documentation via a controlled change management process.
- Strong analytical skills for data review, summarization, and reporting.
$35.00 to $45.00 per hour.
