Location: Indiana

Blackfield Associates are currently partnered with a global pharmaceutical manufacturer to support their search for a MEP Project Engineer to join their project based in Indiana on an initial 12-month contract.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee construction activities for a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, ensuring work is delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
  • Coordinate all municipal utility connections, including water, sewer, gas, electrical, fire protection, fire alarm, security, teledata, and Wi-Fi.
  • Oversee the rough‑in coordination for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to ensure proper integration with building design.
  • Maintain a consistent on‑site presence (four days per week) to monitor progress, resolve issues, and verify compliance with project plans.
  • Review and comment on change orders to ensure necessity, cost effectiveness, and alignment with project goals.
  • Serve as the owner's representative by reviewing plans, monitoring contractor performance, conducting site inspections, and ensuring contractual compliance.
  • Coordinate between internal and external stakeholders to drive issue resolution and maintain safety and quality standards.
  • Manage project documentation, reporting, and communication throughout all construction phases.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in one of Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • sufficient experience in construction or project management.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, MEP systems, building codes, and relevant regulations.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with project management tools and documentation practices.
