Job Description
Amentum Technology Inc. (Amentum) provides safe and innovative solutions to customers at nuclear cleanup and production sites. Our services include program management, decommissioning, environmental remediation, waste and nuclear material management, nuclear operations, consulting, engineering, and construction. We are currently executing contracts essential to our clients’ missions, including one near the Idaho Falls area.
Responsibilities- Coordinate with Quality on inspections.
- Support development of scopes of work for electrical subcontracts with procurement and construction groups.
- Survey and assess existing facilities, perform master planning, scoping, and estimate level of engineering effort.
- Conduct field work to assess existing conditions.
- Review design development of drawings, specifications, and calculation analyses.
- Assist with cost estimating.
- Provide services during bidding and construction, including answering RFIs, bid review, shop drawing review, site visits, and commissioning support.
- Host progress meetings and manage project closeout.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑certified institution.
- At least 4 years of electrical engineering experience.
- Experience with construction support for Title 3 activities.
- Proficiency in short‑circuit analysis and the NEC.
- Broad knowledge of power system design, substation design, fire alarm, lighting, load‑flow studies, communications design, ground design, and equipment design.
- Ability to independently produce sizing calculations and analysis reports.
- Proof of U.S. citizenship (required for government customer requirements).
- DOE experience.
- NQA‑1 experience.
- Arch Flash Analysis experience.
- Experience leading groups of engineers and designers on major projects.
- Ability to author proposals and statements of work.
- Experience leading technical discussions with clients.
- Familiarity with Instrumentation & Controls interface.
- PE license in Idaho or ability to obtain an Idaho PE within six months via NCEES Reciprocity.
Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting is limited to 20 lbs. Hand manipulation required for simple grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation. Occasional need to reach above or below shoulder height, work near construction equipment, and operate on uneven ground. Exposure to dust, gas, fumes, noise, extreme temperatures, or heights may occur.
Other Essential FunctionsU.S. citizenship required. Valid driver's license required. Must work effectively in a team, exhibit professional behavior that enhances productivity, and maintain appropriate grooming and dress. Must pass pre‑employment drug, background, and site security badge screening.
