HDR is in search of a dynamic, diverse, and talented traffic designer to join our growing Pennsylvania offices. The primary duties include being an integral part of the Traffic and Planning team, working under the direction of senior traffic engineers, on a variety of traffic design projects. Design assignments may include preparing signing, pavement marking, signal lighting, temporary traffic control, and intelligent transportation system (ITS) plans for either stand-alone or multidisciplinary projects.
Assignments will vary in complexity from small bridge replacements to streetscapes to large interstate or interchange reconstruction projects. Additional assignments may include conducting field work to collect data such as traffic counts, inventories, or field measurements.
EIT, or ability to obtain within 6 months, required. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title "Traffic Designer" and will be expected to obtain for career progression.
- Working knowledge of PennDOT and PTC standards, specifications, and plan preparation.
- Computer skills using Microsoft office, Project Wise, HSC, and Synchro.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task while working on several projects at once.
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
- Experience related to traffic planning and design.
- Preference given to local candidates.
