Work with engineers, drafting, and sales to design and layout new facilities, modification of existing facilities, or structural product development. Projects include concepts, layouts, equipment specifications, project review, bid packages, meetings, and construction drawings.
Typical DutiesTypical functions of the job include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in the preparation of project models and documentation (3D models and drawings), in the form of verbal and written instructions and sketches to 3D CAD Techs
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all drawings, files, engineering records, prints, and tasks of assigned projects
- Prepare notes, preliminary and final plans (from field notes), implement design data, and create instructions
- Learn and become proficient in engineering and drafting software programs such as, but not limited to, Mathcad, RISA-3D, Visual Foundation, Autodesk Revit, and AutoCAD
- Coordinate drafting work while working with others on same or multiple projects
- Perform quality assurance of projects
- Maintain company drafting standards in accordance with industry drafting and engineering standards
- Maintain the quality, accuracy, and security of the computer-based graphical data
- Maintain high standard of professionalism in attitudes and communication with fellow employees and clients
- Maintain a clean and professional office and work area environment
- Perform other duties as required
Work will be overseen by Senior Project Engineer or Principal.
EducationBachelor's degree (or higher) majoring in Architectural (structural emphasis), Civil (structural emphasis), or Agricultural Engineering (structural emphasis).
ExperiencePreferred experience in using Autodesk Revit, Microsoft Office products, and field measurements. Background in construction, engineering, manufacturing, or similar field. Experience in 3D CAD modeling. Ability to read structural construction drawings.
EquipmentAbility to use CAD workstation, copy/fax machines, related office equipment, computers, and measuring equipment (tape measure, level, angles, laser level).
TravelLimited, but some travel required for field inspections, site visits, continuing education, etc.
