Product Design Technician

Creates preliminary product designs & costing information. Maintains fenestration systems through appropriate documentation. Provides information to other departments,vendors& customers.

• Responsible for preliminary design of new fenestration products.
• Utilizes
  
  CAD Software to create& maintain various mechanical drawings.
• Utilizes
  
  CAD Software to create& maintain various 3D drawing models.
• Utilizes
  
  CAD Software to create& maintain various 3D drawing renderings.
• Utilizes
  
  CAD Software to review& revisevarious mechanical drawings.
• Releasesapproved drawings for internal VEKAusage.
• Creates&maintainscutting formulas.
• Creates&maintainsbills of materials.
• Maintainsmaster profilechart.
• Coordinates& creates3D printed samples & prototypes.
• Develops&maintainspreliminary product costings
• Interfaceswith vendors& customerswhenappropriate.
• Forwardsdrawings to vendors & customers.
• Maintainsproduct weightchart.
• Assistson projects with vendors& customers.
• Provides direction toand mentors
  
  CAD Operators.
• Responsible for file maintenance.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Working knowledge of fenestration, fabrication & fabrication tooling
• Proficient in the use of AutoCAD,Excel& Wordsoftware.
• Keeps current with the latest CAD Software & Design tools
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in cross functional environment
