- Develop new products and processes via mechanical testing and qualification of electrical connectors and components.
- Develop test sequences and procedures to determine the long‑term reliability of electrical connectors factoring customer use and application requirements.
- Process and analyze testing results and create reports and presentations for internal and external customers.
- Support the product design effort in mechanical analysis such as tolerance analysis, FEA, materials analysis, failure analysis, and creating test plans.
- Prepare test samples and test requests, design and fabricate test fixtures, and interface with test lab technicians.
- Collaborate with internal and external suppliers and manufacturing personnel, supporting the development and validation of product prototypes through pilot production and interfacing with beta‑site customers.
- BS or MS in Mechanical / Materials Science Engineering.
- Experience with solid modeling tools – Pro/E and/or Solid Works.
- Experience with data analysis software – Excel, Minitab (plus).
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis tools (ANSYS is a plus).
- Understanding of international testing standards.
- Understanding of electrical systems and electrical connectors.
- Ability to perform failure analysis, tolerance analysis, and DFMEA.
- Strong communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Team oriented work style.
- Enthusiasm for creating and designing new products and processes.
- Knowledge of copper alloys and high‑performance engineering thermoplastics (plus).
