Specialist Engineer in Turbines and Mechanical Auxiliaries (Renens, Paris, Lyon or Milan)
Locations:
Milan, Paris, Renens (VD), Lyon. 100% position.
Expertise in turbines and mechanical auxiliaries of hydropower plants. Proven experience in construction and rehabilitation projects of hydropower plants, both in Switzerland and internationally. Specific knowledge of variable‑speed pumped‑storage equipment is a plus.
- Reviewing design studies and manufacturer details (drawings, calculations, operation and maintenance documents).
- Participating in workshop inspections of equipment and validating their compliance before shipment.
- Conducting site visits and preparing reports with recommendations.
- Coordinating with internal and external project stakeholders.
- Writing technical tender documents (specifications, contracts) for construction.
- Drafting technical proposal documents (methodologies) as consultants or engineering firms.
- Evaluating manufacturers’ technical‑commercial proposals (quality, cost, deadlines).
- Performing occasional on‑site inspections throughout project phases.
- Organizing project meetings and preparing minutes.
- Reviewing project schedules, monitoring progress, and suggesting optimizations.
- Managing technical non‑conformities and claims.
- Engineering degree (HES or EPF level) in Hydromechanics.
- 5 to 10 years of professional experience in hydromechanical equipment for power plants.
- Fluency in English and either French or German, both spoken and written.
- Proven autonomy, rigor, and proactive approach in managing tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of addressing both specialists and non‑specialists.
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Availability for international travel (e.g., Africa, Central Asia) for assignments of approximately 1 to 2 weeks.
