Plant Electrical Design is part of HVDC Engineering and manages the delivery of the auxiliary power system for HVDC stations. The system we manage includes equipment such as auxiliary transformers, medium & low voltage switch gear, diesel generator systems, batteries, UPS and cables. To be able to deliver the system in a safe and reliable way, we are now searching for more Design Leads to strengthen our team.
In this role, you will have the overall responsibility for the department’s scope of delivery regarding auxiliary power equipment, which includes system design, selectivity studies, equipment specification, cable and cable transit systems. Part of your tasks will be to ensure that our deliveries are time and cost efficient with expected quality. The design of the auxiliary system is complex and customized based on the customer requirements which makes our work challenging, but also very exciting since every project is different from another.
As a Design Lead, you will act as the leader of the team and guide your team of Designers throughout the various tasks within auxiliary power scope. You will also have a large global network since you will be part of a global and diverse team located in different countries around the world. We offer you a role where you can grow in various ways;

- Take responsibility and manage all technical aspects, budget, and timeline of the auxiliary power in HVDC projects.
- Guide and coordinate your team of Designers and the daily work tasks, consisting of design of auxiliary power systems including SLD creation, load calculations, equipment dimensioning, specification reviews, customer meetings, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), and installation supervision.
- Lead customer meetings and interact with other internal departments and external stakeholders.
- Part of your daily work also consists of coordinating your team’s work tasks, manage contacts with other departments and external suppliers.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with in auxiliary power, selectivity studies or leading installation/commissioning of low voltage equipment.
- A couple of years of technical competence and leadership experience, including planning, delegation, guidance and follow-up.
- Good leadership skills, a collaborative approach, and willingness to contribute to team efforts.
- Strong communication skills in English (both written and spoken).
- Knowledge of CAD-tools that handle both electrical circuit diagrams and layouts is a plus.
