Associate Teacher at Colonial Intermediate Unit

Colonial Intermediate Unit 20 (CIU 20) is seeking motivated individuals for our Summer 2026 Extended School Year (ESY) program. This program is designed to support students with disabilities in maintaining their skills over the summer break.

We are looking for passionate staff to fill various roles, including Associate Teachers (Paraprofessionals), who play a vital role in providing one-on-one and small-group support under the direction of a certified teacher.

• Special Education Teachers
• Associate Teachers (Paraprofessionals/Teacher Aides)
• Occupational & Physical Therapists/Assistants

Dates: July 6 – July 31, 2026 (Monday through Thursday).

Required Orientation: July 1.

Locations: Bethlehem, PA at Northeast Middle School and Pocono Summit, PA at Pocono Mt West High school

To be considered "Highly Qualified" per Pennsylvania state regulations, applicants must meet one of the following:

• Have completed at least 48 post-secondary college credits
  .
• Possess an Associate’s degree or higher.
• Pass the CIU 20 Local Assessment: If you have a high school diploma but fewer than 48 credits, CIU 20 provides a free assessment to help you meet the qualification requirements.

• Ability to assist students with daily learning, behavior goals, and self-help skills.
• Basic computer skills (Google Suite/Email).
• Successful completion of PA State Police, Child Abuse, and FBI Clearances.
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand/bend as needed in a classroom environment.
• Competitive hourly rates.
• $500 Attendance Stipend for those who meet the program's attendance criteria.
