Description:
This Special Education Teacher position designs instruction through daily lessons and implements effective individual and group strategies for students in the areas presented in the curriculum and aligned with the PA Core Standards and in accordance with student IEPs. Additionally, it provides the classroom staff with a schedule of assigned duties and responsibilities in the classroom and makes suggestions for them to further develop their skills in team planning, goal setting, recording and observing student behavior, achieving student goals, classroom management and communication strategies.
Qualifications:
* Valid PA Teaching Certificate:
Special Education PK - 12 required, but PK - 8 (if elementary) or 7 - 12 (if High school) will be considered
* Elementary Certificate, preferred
* Experience with students with special needs, preferred
* Experience with behavior intervention and knowledge of de-escalation techniques, preferred
Terms:
Full Time, 190 days
Salary: LIUEA Pay Scale (As of 7/1/2025 Bach. min $59,172.22, Mast. min (up to 44 credits) $63,672.22), plus benefits
