Position Details
We are seeking a dedicated para educator to provide one-to-one support for a middle school student with autism. This position focuses on assisting the student in accessing educational programming and supporting their success throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Providing individualized academic and behavioral support in a middle school setting
* Assisting the student in accessing instructional activities and school routines
* Redirecting challenging behaviors and supporting de-escalation when needed
* Implementing behavior intervention strategies, including occasional safe physical management
* Escorting the student to various locations within a large public school environment
Preferred Qualifications:
* CPI or Safety Care training is preferred; however, training will be provided for the right candidate
Physical Requirements:
* Ability to assist in physical de-escalation for an individual up to 240 pounds
* Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods of time
* Ability to support student movement and supervision throughout the building
