Head Start is a comprehensive preschool program for low‑income children ages birth through five years old. It provides children with developmentally appropriate early childhood education.
ResponsibilitiesThe Head Start Program Instructor supports the instructional process by serving as a teacher with specific responsibilities: supervising students, developing lesson plans, delivering group and individual instruction, collaborating with teachers and staff, addressing instructional and classroom issues, and responding to inquiries from parents or guardians about program and student progress.
Minimum Requirements- Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education
- Bachelor's Degree and PDE Early Childhood Certification preferred
- Experience with pre‑school population desired
- Knowledge in Early Literacy
- Ability to work with a culturally diverse population
- Able to work at centers within Delaware County
- Able to work within a team concept
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Able to frequently lift twenty pounds
- Basic computer skills
