Administrative Programs Assistant
Hiring Range: $25.60/hr to $32.01/hr pay rate commensurate with relevant experience.
This position is full-time, 35 hrs/wk, for the Academic Year only 42 wks/yr.
As part of a team of two responsible for department faculty support. Oversees student majors advisement process. Handles student requests during drop/add period. In consultation with Philosophy Chairperson, handles special approvals for Philosophy Core fulfillment, and approvals of student abroad studies. Coordinates and implements Philosophy course management processes. Updates Philosophy Department sections of the University Catalogue and Directory. Coordinate Perspectives Program Workshop budget.
Directly monitors part-time faculty salary budgets. Manages processes and logistics related to Philosophy faculty searches, promotions and tenures. Coordinates sabbatical application process.
- Part of a team responsible for interactions with department visitors, both in-person and via phone/email.
- Provides support for program directors and committees.
- Processing applications for majors and minors, course overrides.
- Fielding faculty (both full and part-time) FAQs and providing administrative support.
- Provides support for department-sponsored lectures and conferences.
- Supports the department Chair.
- One year of academic office administration experience required.
