A chair of excellence: ASSOCIATE or FULL PROFESSOR at the School of Mathematics
As part of its strategy of international scientific excellence, the School of Mathematics is recruiting a professor of exceptional standing. This position is intended for a distinguished researcher of international stature, recognized for the excellence of their scientific work, their ability to lead research teams, and their potential to have a lasting impact on pure or applied mathematics.
The successful candidate must demonstrate a distinguished academic trajectory, evidenced by publications in top journals, established international recognition, as well as a strategic vision for developing an ambitious and innovative research program. The University particularly values profiles capable of contributing to interdisciplinary excellence, in connection with UNIGE's strong research areas (pure and applied mathematics, theoretical physics, computer science, life sciences, etc.).
The position is open on a full‑time or part‑time basis, with a permanent appointment. It offers a stimulating research environment, extensive administrative support, substantial start‑up funding, and the opportunity to recruit doctoral and postdoctoral researchers.
Responsibilities- Carrying out world‑class research.
- Developing and supervising innovative projects with strong potential for external funding.
- Actively participating in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
- Contributing to the scientific visibility of the School of Mathematics and the University.
- Assuming academic and organizational responsibilities within the Faculty of Sciences.
- PhD in sciences or equivalent title.
- Internationally recognized publication record.
- Proven ability to develop innovative and collaborative research.
