OVERVIEW

The Apparel Color Specialist ensures color accuracy and consistency by evaluating supplier submissions against established standards and partnering with cross-functional teams to address color and colorfastness issues. This role supports product quality, seasonal timelines, and design and production decisions.

  • Match supplier color samples to standards as well as ensure color consistency across different substrates using spectrophotometers, light booths, and numerical tolerancing, document clear color dispositions.
  • Lead weekly color/design reviews for print and pattern submissions; provide technical guidance on color and colorfastness.
  • Manage supplier communication and enter color comments in a web-based system; ensure approvals meet calendar deadlines and resolve issues as needed.
  • Calibrate and maintain color equipment; manage seasonal color libraries and physical submissions.
  • Troubleshoot color issues during development and production
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion, Business, Textiles or a related field
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with color measurement tools (e.g., spectrophotometers, light booths)
  • Strong attention to detail and understanding of color tolerancing standards
  • Effective communication skills and experience working cross-functionally
  • Strong understanding of color theory and textiles.
  • Excellent aesthetic sense and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of the product development lifecycle (Time & Action/deadlines)
  • Superior Score on Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Test - assessment will be given during the interview process
