Safety Technician
Bilfinger Industrial Services, Inc., known as a leading provider of complex, comprehensive industrial services, is seeking a Safety Technician at our Mehoopany, PA site location. The Safety Technician monitors safety during all construction activities at the project site while supporting and taking direction from the Safety Manager, Site Leader, and/or Superintendent.
Responsibilities
* Assist in Managing all activities of the Safety and First Aid Department.
* Assist in the responsibility for carrying out the safety program for construction at the P&G site.
* Orientates and trains all employees to recognize, avoid, and prevent accidents.
* Participate in weekly supervisory safety meetings and distribute safety information for craft toolbox meetings. Check for effectiveness.
* Assist in maintaining incident and accident records.
* Acquaint all personnel with the emergency, fire, and first‑aid procedures.
* Assist in recording and reporting BOS activities.
* Render first‑aid to any injured or accident victim.
* Conduct surveys of Bilfinger Industrial Services and subcontractor operations to ensure compliance with project safety program, OSHA, and State safety standards and regulations. Identify safety violations and initiate corrective action by responsible supervision.
* Enforce Bilfinger Industrial Services, P&G, and OSHA safety rules and regulations while coaching employees and building a positive safety culture.
* Manage and coordinate craft training programs related to safety and motivation.
* Initiate and monitor job safety procedures and programs as the work may dictate.
* Assist in administering safety recognition program.
* Review, provide feedback and sign off on daily PJHA's.
* Spend time with new contractors to the site to help get them acclimated to the site expectations for working on site.
* Help work toward a common goal and promote interaction between all team members.
Requirements
* The position is an entry level position with the ideal candidate having school or work experience in the safety or construction industry.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management and organizational skills are required
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
* OSHA 10 or 30 Training preferred
