Child Care Assistant Teacher

Job Overview

All of our jobs are Monday through Friday, between the hours of 6:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. No nights or weekends!

We need a responsible Assistant Teacher who is able to either open or close the classroom/building. This position is a full-time, 8-hour shift, but we would consider part time split shift as well.

• Assist in supervising children
• Cultivate their social and emotional development, facilitate developmentally appropriate activities, and provide a safe and nurturing environment
• Care for the whole child, including diapering and assisting with toileting as needed
• Support our commitment to meeting the individual needs of each child and their family

• At least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least two years of documented experience working with children (child care center experience, volunteering, coaching, tutoring, babysitting, or lifeguarding). Caring for your own children does not count per PA regulations

• Hourly rate $11.00 – $13.25 per hour, with an additional $1.00 per hour for split shift
• Shift differential of $1.00 per hour for split shift
• The Growing Place Child Care Centers are Keystone STAR Four rated, NAEYC-accredited

• Brodheadsville – Chestnut Hill Center:
  Floater closer, School Age Split Shift
• Kresgeville – Polk Center:
  Infant and Toddler, School Age Split Shift, Floater closer

• 8 hour shift, Day shift, Monday to Friday

• PA Criminal Records clearance
• FBI clearance
• National Sex Offender Registry clearance
• Child Abuse clearance

• Proof of high school graduation or equivalent
• Two written references
• Verification of experience working with children (as above). Caring for your own children does not count per PA regulations
