Summary
The North America Regional Purchasing Manager is responsible for supporting, aligning, and coordinating procurement activities across the North America region to ensure optimal sourcing conditions related to cost, quality, delivery, and supplier performance, in alignment with Carel Group strategies and directives. This role promotes, coordinates, and monitors synergy initiatives among the three organizations and in collaboration with Group Headquarters, driving consistency, efficiency, and effective use of resources.
The Regional Purchasing Manager ensures the implementation and governance of Group purchasing policies, sourcing standards, and processes, enabling sustainable, compliant, and long‑term supply solutions that support operational excellence and business growth across North America.
- Lead supplier scouting, selection, qualification, and homologation processes in accordance with Group policies to meet new supply needs and secure improved sourcing conditions.
- Maintain senior‑level relationships with strategic suppliers, ensuring regular communication, information sharing, and alignment with performance and partnership expectations.
- Support development of the annual purchasing budget for the North American companies.
- Execute and maintain supply strategies based on supplier segmentation; validate sourcing rules, allocation models, and supply shares.
- Lead or support negotiations with existing suppliers on pricing, delivery terms, lead times, and contractual frameworks; ensure implementation of Group‑level contracts.
- Monitor supplier performance relative to quality, delivery, and service KPIs; ensure corrective actions are defined and implemented.
- Manage Supplier Escalations and conflicts, including performance failures, non‑conformities, or damages, ensuring structured resolution.
- Lead sourcing improvement projects and cost‑reduction initiatives across the region.
- Promote and implement purchasing synergies with other Group purchasing teams to optimize cost, quality, and supply risk mitigation.
- Oversee Purchasing Operations and coordinate Buyer teams across the three companies, ensuring consistent processes and best‑practice adoption.
- Prepare and submit regular reports to HQ on sourcing KPIs, performance trends, and project progress.
- Collaborate with key areas such as Operations, Plant Managers, Planning and Material Planers, Logistics, Engineering, Quality, R&D and Finance.
- Interface with Group HQ Operations teams and the supplier network.
- Coordinate the Buyer teams across the North American region.

- Certifications Required
- Education – Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Experience – Minimum 6+ years of solid experience in strategic sourcing or purchasing within structured, multinational, or complex industrial organizations.
- Language and Communication Skills – Strong verbal and written language communication skills. The ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and other employees of the organization. Ability to influence stakeholders at different organizational levels.
Must be able to speak and read the English language. - Purchasing Knowledge – Knowledge of electronics/electromechanics supply markets is a plus.
- Computer Knowledge – Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information. Must have a working knowledge of MRP (ORACLE Preferred), Excel, Word software programs.
- Tactical and Strategic Analytical Skills – Purchasing process, pricing and marketing trends, commodity index trends, market conditions. Thinking strategically for lead‑time reduction, cost reduction, and other supply chain initiatives.
