We have partnered with a leading specialty chemicals and life sciences manufacturer to recruit for a Head of Global Business Development, Switzerland (Remote). This senior commercial leadership role is responsible for driving global growth strategy, expanding international partnerships, and accelerating revenue across pharmaceutical, life sciences, and specialty chemical markets.

As Head of Global Business Development, you will lead international business development initiatives, manage strategic customer relationships, and work closely with executive leadership, R&D, and operations to commercialise high-value, technically differentiated solutions.

Key Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, Business, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of global business development or commercial leadership experience within specialty chemicals, pharmaceutical ingredients, or life sciences.
  • Proven track record driving international growth and managing global customer portfolios.
  • Strong understanding of regulated markets, custom manufacturing, and value-based selling.
  • Experience leading strategic negotiations, long-term agreements, and partnership development.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute global business development strategy across pharmaceutical, life sciences, and specialty chemical markets.
  • Identify and secure new international business opportunities with strategic customers and partners.
  • Lead high-level commercial negotiations, strategic partnerships, and long-term agreements.
  • Partner with R&D and operations to align commercial strategy with technical capabilities and capacity planning.
  • Manage global pipelines, forecasting, and market intelligence for executive leadership.
  • Represent the organisation at key international customer meetings, conferences, and industry events.
