Automotive Technician, Automotive Mechanic
Location: Manheim
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessment of vehicle condition, noting any damage or repair required for frame, paint, engine, AC/heater operation, radio, navigation system, tires, etc.
- Prepare support documentation related to vehicle condition, including vehicle identification data, condition description, repair costs estimates, photographs, etc.
- Maintain current knowledge of applicable labor rates, parts charges and manufacturer's updates; adhere to work instructions/procedures regarding inspections/documentation.
- Conduct courtesy walk-around inspections.
- Follow all applicable safety and health related procedures.
- May be required to locate, start and move vehicles as directed.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Generally, less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
- Safe driver's license required; valid driver s license and safe driving record.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to drive standard and automatic transmission vehicles.
- Must be detail-oriented, accurate, and able to multi-task.
- General knowledge of mechanical and automotive body work.
- Previous body shop, automotive background and mechanical experience.
- Monday - Friday
- 7:00am - 3:30pm
- Possible mandatory OT up to 5:30pm, and rare Saturday work.
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb.
- Vision requirements: close, distance, depth perception, and color variations.
- Must be able to work in varied weather conditions.
Hourly base pay rate is $13.70 - $20.53/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the candidate s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
BenefitsEmployees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
