Summary

The cashier is responsible for the scanning and indexing of all documents into the business office for the hospital system within a high volume, time sensitive environment, creates daily facility deposit that is balanced with all sources of incoming cash, including checks, credit cards, open and sorts all mail in the business office and distributes to the appropriate areas.

Qualifications

Other information:

  • HIgh School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associate's Degree is preferred
  • 2+ years in patient accounting, billing, collections, customer service or cash applications, banking or hospital cashiering experience preferred
  • knowledge of multi-functional office equipment
  • Microsoft Word and Excel, Ten Key Pad, experience required
  • Detail oriented, analytical and ability to problem solve
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Prior experience reading EOB's and processing medical contractual adjustments, co-pays, coinsurance and deductibles
