Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Accounting:
    • Perform general ledger accounting tasks, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for corporate operations and support property-level accounting as needed.
    • Assist in the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Support the Corporate Controller in analyzing financial data and identifying trends or discrepancies.
  • Assist in preparing reports for internal stakeholders and external audits.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable Support:
    • Assist with accounts payable processes, including invoice verification, coding, and payment preparation.
    • Support accounts receivable functions, including billing, collections, and reconciliation.
    • Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor payments and customer invoices.
  • Compliance & Audit Support:
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including tax filings and gaming industry requirements.
    • Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation, schedules, and explanations as needed.
    • Maintain proper documentation to support audit trails and regulatory compliance.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting Support:
    • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts for the corporate office and properties.
    • Provide data and analysis to support variance reporting and budget tracking.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
    • Assist in the implementation of new accounting software or system enhancements.
    • Collaborate with the finance team to maintain and update accounting policies and procedures.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with property-level finance teams to ensure consistency in accounting practices.
    • Support other departments (e.g., HR, operations) with financial data and reporting needs.
    • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support for corporate initiatives as directed by the Corporate Controller.
