Senior Accountant

A client of ours is looking for a Senior Accountant for a contract role to support core accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting. This role will be responsible for overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable, managing month-end close activities, maintaining general ledger accuracy, and supporting inventory accounting. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work cross-functionally.

Responsibilities of Senior Accountant

+ Manage and oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

+ Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reviews

+ Maintain general accounting functions, including general ledger management and financial reporting

+ Support and reconcile inventory accounting, including inventory valuation, adjustments, and variance analysis

+ Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies

+ Assist with audits and provide requested documentation and schedules

+ Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency

Requirements

Skills/Qualifications of Senior Accountant

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

6+years of progressive accounting experience

Strong experience with AP, AR, month-end close, general accounting, and inventory

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Experience in inventory-based or manufacturing environments

CPA or CPA-eligible a plus

ERP system experience
