The Junior Accountant will be the primary Accounts Receivable resource for both the Evans City, PA and Bellevue, WA sites, ensuring that activities impacting receivables are properly entered into the ERP system, posted, and reflected in the general ledger in a timely manner. The role also involves data gathering, analysis, and the preparation of financial reports and schedules in compliance with Ascensus guidelines and government regulations.

Additionally, the position supports various daily accounting functions to enable timely closing of reporting periods and has daily responsibilities over critical accounting tasks.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Posting cash payments received into the ERP system.
• Communicating with customers regarding payment timing, balances, discrepancies, and inquiries, including documenting interactions and coordinating invoice/payment notifications.
• Maintaining the bi-weekly cash forecast and facilitating collections reviews.
• Setting up new customers in ERP and Vertex systems.
• Posting rebate payments and assisting with sales tax tracking and reporting, including managing exemption forms and reconciling reports.
• Handling foreign currency activities, including updating rates and preparing FX reports.
• Supporting monthly closing activities, such as accounts receivable aging, account reconciliation, and journal entries.
• Assisting with annual budgeting and audit processes.
• Collaborating with Customer Care on invoicing and trade portal monitoring.
• Performing special projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 1-2 years of accounting experience.
• Knowledge of accounting principles; SAP knowledge is preferred.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines.

Educational Requirements: B.S. in Business, Accounting, or equivalent preferred.
